JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Thousands of people marched from Friendship Fountain to the Duval County Courthouse on Saturday afternoon to join the nationwide “No Kings” protests against President Donald Trump’s administration.
This was just one of about a dozen protests that were held in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia to voice opposition against Trump’s policies.

Protesters of all ages and backgrounds were seen chanting and holding signs as they made their way to the courthouse. They said they viewed the demonstration as a safe space where they could be around like-minded people.
“We’re lessening our ability to have free speech, intimidation on protests, on speaking out,” Protestor Nicole Westerman said. “Being with people who are like-minded is really kind of healing to see like you’re not alone, you’re not just in your living room like ‘this is not OK,’ none of these people you think it’s OK, and that’s kind of like it’s own community and it’s own solidarity. I think that’s really good for the soul.”
Silver Luna shared the same sentiment as Westerman.
“Our rights are quickly deteriorating,” Luna said. “They’re being taken away from us at a rapid pace. So if we don’t stand up and show our community that they have support and that we’re here with them, then I think we’re gonna lose them faster than we expect.”
Demonstrators also said they will not stop protesting until their voices are heard.
This was the second “No Kings” protest and third mass movement against the administration this year.
