PORT ST. LUCIE – A Port St. Lucie police detective, working undercover with the International Crimes Against Children Task Force, recently assisted overseas authorities in the arrest of a man, charging him with sexual abuse of a child, according to a Port St. Lucie Police Facebook posting.

Adam Daniel Lea, 45, of Limassol, Cyprus, was taken into custody by authorities in that country, after obtaining a search warrant to locate a child in Lea’s custody, according to the posting.

Since mid-summer of 2025, Lea was communicating with the undercover ICAC Port St. Lucie detective. While communicating with the detective, the Cyprus shared disturbing and dangerous thoughts, according to the Facebook posting.

Detectives learned through Lea’s communication with the officer that Lea’s sexual abuse of a child was occurring for many years.

As Homeland Security Investigations in Athens was briefed and began working to identify the suspect and victim, legal orders were issued to examine Lea’s digital activities, according to the Facebook posting.

After analyzing the digital evidence, authorities in Limassol secured the warrant, found the child —who is now safe — and took Lea into custody, according to the Facebook posting.

Anyone who is or knows someone who is a victim of sexual abuse is asked to call 911 or The Sexual Assault Assistance Program of the Treasure Coast at 1-866-828-7273.
