A 19-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning after Florida Highway Patrol troopers said he was driving at extreme speeds on Interstate 4 in Tampa.According to an arrest report, a trooper was monitoring traffic along eastbound I-4 in Hillsborough County just after 1 a.m. on Jan. 4 when they clocked a dark-colored Ford Mustang speeding and weaving in and out of traffic. Troopers say the driver was driving at speeds exceeding 95 miles per hour and changing lanes without signaling on I-4.FHP says the trooper tried to stop the driver, but says the Mustang continued to accelerate. Authorities say the vehicle reached speeds of 154 mph, with the trooper following at 150 mph for approximately 2 miles.FHP says the driver eventually pulled over.The driver, identified as Cirilo Rayo-Callejas of Plant City, was arrested and charged with reckless driving and operating a vehicle in excess of 50 mph over the posted speed limit. The charges are classified as misdemeanors, according to the arrest report.Rayo-Callejas was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail. No injuries were reported.
