PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. (CBS12) — A facility that’s expected to bring hundreds of Costco jobs to the city of Port St. Lucie is on track to open in the coming months, according to the corporation’s website.

In March 2026, Port St. Lucie will welcome a Costco Depot at the Sansone Legacy Park in the Tradition neighborhood. According to a news release, the depot will include two facilities that will total 1.87 million square feet and employ more than 500 people.

The Port St. Lucie City Council approved the site plan in December 2023. The first phase of the project consisted of a 595,000 square-foot cold and dry storage facility, which would employ 265 people at an average wage of $55,350 plus benefits.

The Economic Development Council of St. Lucie County said about $55 million is being invested in the facility, and another $16 million is for the equipment. The council says construction of the city’s first phase will employ 549 workers, generating more than $25 million in labor income.

The project’s second phase included the construction of a 1.06-million-square-foot dry goods distribution center. The plan also allows for two future expansion areas: 60,000 square feet for cold storage and 147,500 square feet for additional dry storage.
