Tallahassee State College ready to begin Panhandle play

  • January 8, 2026

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Tallahassee State women’s basketball team just keeps on winning.

Head coach Chelsea waters’ squad is on a three game win streak and posting an 11-5 record ahead of Saturday’s panhandle opener against Northwest Florida State.

The Eagles said they are happy with how the season has gone so far, but they know this conference is a different animal, and they’ve been preparing as such.

“Through all 15 or 16 games we’ve played so far, that’s been the emphasis every play and every game,” said sophomore Leanna Pabst. “We’ve been watching these teams before the season started, over the summer, a lot of us knew these teams even before we came to Tallahassee State so it’s something we’ve always known.”

The Eagle women tip at 2:00 on Saturday. The men’s game, which is a top twenty match-up nationally, follows.
