ST. LUCIE COUNTY – The St. Lucie County Human Services Division is offering utility assistance to help households with residents 67 and older on a fixed income.

Applicants must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Eligibility documents are required. Households must meet the following requirements:

• Must be a St. Lucie County resident.

• All household members must be 67 and older.

• Sole income must be SS/SSI/SSDI/retirement.

• Must not have any employment income.

• Utility bill must be in the applicant’s name.

• Applicants must be at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.

Income eligibility is based on household size, with limits increasing as the number of people in a household grows. For a one-person household, the income limit is $31,300. The limit rises to $42,300 for a household of two and $53,300 for three people. Households of four may earn up to $64,300, while those with five members have an income cap of $75,300. For larger households, the limit is $86,300 for six people, $97,300 for seven, and $108,300 for households of eight.
