The Hurricanes upset No. 7 Texas A&M 10-3 in the first round and No. 2 Ohio State 24-14 in the Cotton Bowl. The Rebels cruised to victory in the first round with a 41-10 win over Tulane and won a Sugar Bowl shootout against Georgia 39-34.
The winner will play either No. 1 Indiana or No. 5 Oregon, the two participants in Friday night’s Peach Bowl.
