A piece of the 2026 NHL Winter Classic is now a part of a South Florida school.

The Florida Panthers on Friday officially opened a synthetic ice rink for students at SLAM Miami.

The rink was on the field near the actual rink the Panthers played on during the historic Jan. 2 outdoor game at loanDepot park, and was donated by the team to SLAM Miami.

Now it will be used to give students on campus an opportunity to learn to skate and play hockey year-round.

The synthetic ice mimics the feel of real ice without the high maintenance costs.
