The Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife invites the public to attend its monthly meeting Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Rotary Park, 5505 Rose Garden Road, Cape Coral. The evening begins with networking, followed by an educational presentation and the organization’s general business meeting.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for networking and informal conversation. The featured presentation will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the CCFW general meeting.

The presentation, “Pollution and Pragmatism: The Caloosahatchee Watershed,” will be delivered by Matt DePaolis, environmental policy director for the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation. DePaolis will explore the physical and legal threats impacting the Caloosahatchee watershed, as well as practical tools and solutions to protect local water quality.

As SCCF’s environmental policy director, DePaolis brings a unique combination of expertise in environmental law and marine biology, translating cutting-edge science into effective policy through advocacy to protect Southwest Florida’s waters and wildlife.

The meeting is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend.
