JACKSONVILLE – The postseason is at hand, and all that that entails.
The AFC South Champion Jaguars (13-4) will play the wild-card Buffalo Bills (12-5) in an AFC Wild Card Playoff game at EverBank Stadium Sunday at 1 p.m. – a game featuring one of the postseason’s hottest teams against perhaps its most experienced team.
The No. 3-seeded Jaguars enter the postseason with eight consecutive victories, winning six of those games by 14 or more points. They have earned their way into the postseason with victories over five playoff teams and three division champions.
The No. 6 Bills, AFC East Champions from 2020-2024, are making their seventh consecutive postseason appearance having finished second in the division to the No. 2 New England Patriots (14-3).
It’s a game that features perhaps the best quarterback in the postseason – 2024 MVP Josh Allen – and perhaps the hottest, with Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence accounting for 19 touchdowns with one turnover in the last six games.
This is a huge matchup, as are all postseason matchups. The Jaguars are playing as well as any NFL team entering the postseason, but the postseason is a different – and more pressurized – thing. They have been tested a lot this season. Now, the real tests begin.
