Quick thoughts from South Florida Sun Sentinel staffers on the Dolphins’ ugly loss to the Browns on Sunday at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland as Miami falls to 1-6 on the season:
Chris Perkins, Dolphins Columnist
Enough is enough. Coach Mike McDaniel can’t last much longer. This was an eye-opening showing by the Dolphins, and take that in the worst way possible. Players seem to have stopped listening to McDaniel based on the sloppiness they showed in getting blown out, committing penalties and senseless errors, and just not looking good. The end has got to be near.
David Furones, Dolphins Writer
If it’s not evident with this result that this year’s Dolphins team and this regime as a whole are going nowhere, I don’t know what it will take. It’s the Cleveland Browns, for crying out loud. Turnovers. Penalties. The inability to stop the run, allowing a big play on the ground. The inability to pass protect. There’s just not much this Dolphins team, outside of utilizing De’Von Achane, can do well.

Obviously, this needs to be blown up. The Browns defense, yes, has been elite at home. But, still, these first seven games were the EASY part of the schedule. The Dolphins run defense has been a sieve and no one respects the offense without a singular force such as 2022-23 Tyreek Hill. This is numbing.
Keven Lerner, Assistant Sports Editor
You could just tell what was going to happen, couldn’t you? It is hard to remember the last time the Dolphins, especially the defense, looked competent in raw conditions up north. It happening to a 1-5 team, really forces owner Steve Ross‘ hand to detonate his most recent rebuild.
