LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A driver was arrested overnight after leading Florida Highway Patrol troopers on a high-speed chase on State Road 82 in Lee County, authorities said.

Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle traveling at more than 100 mph, but the driver fled, FHP said.

The pursuit ended when troopers used a PIT maneuver to bring the vehicle to a stop.

The driver then fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended and taken into custody.

Authorities said the driver faces multiple charges, including aggravated fleeing to elude, five counts of reckless driving with property damage, five counts of DUI with property damage, resisting an officer without violence, driving without a valid license and speeding more than 50 mph over the posted limit.

No injuries were reported.
