Happy Monday, Florida. We may not be living in “Back to the Future” times yet, but taxis could be flying in the Sunshine State by the end of the year. This year.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a … flying taxi?
We’ve got the first aerial test site operating in Polk County, between Tampa and Orlando. And one company is already promising a 20-minute flight from Miami to Palm Beach County. Beam us up!
Here’s what else is going on around the Sunshine State:
Baby steps: First Lady Casey DeSantis announced Friday that state testing showed high levels of heavy metals in 16 baby formulas analyzed. Government Impact Reporter Ana Goñi-Lessan explains how Florida will start its own food testing program as part of Make America Healthy Again.
All work with some play: Statewide Rapid Response Reporter Michelle Spitzer tells us why two Florida lawmakers — one from each party — want to expand mandatory recess to middle schools.

A new bill would require at least 100 minutes of recess each week for grades K-8.
Making change: A federal judge in Jacksonville has given Florida two months to change the way it explains to patients why they were dropped from Medicaid. She called the current notices “confusing, vague, convoluted, antiquated, contradictory, inaccurate, and ambiguous.” Tell us how you really feel, Your Honor.
Want a dadgum souvenir? Thousands of items belonging to legendary football coach Bobby Bowden — trophies, ties, golf clubs and tons of FSU memorabilia — will be auctioned off in March. We’ve got step-by-step instructions on how to bid. (You can also buy his Tallahassee house; here’s a video tour.)

Purchase a piece of FSU Seminoles history at the Bobby Bowden Legacy Auction.
This newsletter is brand new, so we’d love if you’d help us out and share it with your network. Friends and colleagues can sign up here.
