Second quarter
Ray Davis fumbles kickoff return
What a blow for the Bills. Ray Davis, the leading kick returner in the NFL this season, had the ball jarred free from Montaric Brown, leading to a scramble for the ball that was recovered by Jacksonville.
The Jaguars have possession on Buffalo’s 36-yard line.
That could be a game-changing sequence depending on what Jacksonville does.
The Jaguars lead 7-3 with 14:05 remaining.
SCORE UPDATE: Jaguars 7, Bills 3 with 14:14 remaining second quarter
Jaguars answer with game’s first touchdown
The Jaguars bounced back from the interception and Buffalo’s field goal by embarking on a seven-play, 65-yard touchdown drive. The drive was capped by Brian Thomas Jr. notching a three-yard score.
Lawrence’s first two passes, which were the first plays of the drive, went for nine and six-yard completions to Brenton Strange and Travis Etienne, picking up a first down. Jacksonville then leaned on running back Bhayshul Tuten for three straight runs to end the quarter.
The rookie turned those three carries into 47 yards, getting the Jaguars down to the three-yard line. Two plays later, Lawrence connected with Thomas Jr. for the score.
First quarter score: Bills 3, Jaguars 0
Bills get on the board as Josh Allen heads into medical tent
SCORE UPDATE: Bills 3, Jaguars 0 with 2:54 remaining
Despite gaining possession in plus territory, Buffalo couldn’t pick up a first down before sending the field goal unit out. A delay of game then pushed Matt Prater’s field goal attempt from 45 to 50 yards, but he still drilled it through the uprights.
It was Prater’s first made field goal since Dec. 7, as he’s been dealing with injuries.
Before Prater’s field goal, Buffalo dialed a 3rd-and-6 design run for Allen, which resulted in two yards. After the play, Allen headed to the medical tent, where he was evaluated for a concussion.
Allen was out of the tent by the time the Jaguars’ next possession started, with CBS reporting Allen cleared protocol.
Buffalo punts, Shaq Thompson intercepts Trevor Lawrence
While the Bills forced the three-and-out and had a five-and-a-half-minute drive, they couldn’t advance the ball beyond midfield, forcing them to punt. The Jaguars then got possession on their own 20.
Travis Etiene helped Jacksonville gain its first first down, but the drive came to a screeching halt when Shaq Thompson intercepted Trevor Lawrence and ran it to the 33-yard line.
The Bills now have a prime opportunity to strike first.
The score is tied 0-0 with 5:25 remaining
Bills force quick three-and-out
While Buffalo nearly intercepted a Trevor Lawrence screen pass nearly blocked a punt, it nonetheless forced a quick three-and-out, which was capped by a Cole Bishop pass breakup.
Tyrell Shavers nearly got his mitt on the punt.
Josh Allen and Co. will look to get on the board first, starting inside their own 10-yard line.
The score is tied 0-0 with 13:29 remaining.

The Buffalo Bills are in the playoffs for the seventh-straight year. But for the first time since 2020, Buffalo’s path to its first Super Bowl since 1994 will begin on the road.
The Bills earned the AFC’s No. 6 seed after finishing second in the AFC East behind the New England Patriots, booking a matchup with the No. 3 seed Jacksonville Jaguars. Under first-year head coach Liam Coen, Jacksonville improved from four wins in 2024 to 13 in 2025 — ending the regular season on an eight-game winning streak.
It led the Jaguars to win the AFC South for the first time since 2022, clinching home-field advantage for the Wild Card round. Of note: The Bills haven’t won a game in Jacksonville since 2013.
In a playoff field without Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson and Joe Burrow, Josh Allen (seven) and Aaron Rodgers (12) are the only AFC quarterbacks with three or more career playoff wins. Trevor Lawrence, who had the highest Pro Football Focus grade of his career, has one playoff win across his five-year career.
While the Jaguars are riding an eight-game winning streak into the contest, the Bills finished their regular season winning five of their final six games — the lone loss a one-point defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17.
Should Buffalo defeat Jacksonville, it’ll either face the No. 1 seed Denver Broncos or the No. 2 seed Patriots in the Divisional Round next week. In a wide-open AFC playoff picture, the Allen-led Bills (+475) have the third-shortest betting odds to win the conference.
