FORT MYERS BEACH – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has released the arrest report for Carlos Vladimir Gonzalez following a fatal shooting in Fort Myers Beach.

The arrest report says, Gonzalez called 911 admitting to shooting his friend on Sunday morning. The report says the victim was found in the kitchen with a gun next to them on the counter.

Deputies arrived and began life-saving measures, but the individual was pronounced dead at 12:56 a.m. The report said Gonzalez delayed calling 911, hindering first responders’ ability to provide life-saving medical care.

The scene was processed, and evidence, including four wine bottles and two glasses were collected from the scene.

Gonzalez was transported to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office for an interview. Detectives noted in the arrest report signs of alcohol influence, including an odor and bloodshot eyes. Gonzalez requested an attorney after being read his Miranda Rights.

The document stated there was probable cause to arrest Gonzalez for manslaughter, with an enhancement for firearm use during the offense.

Gonzalez was booked at the Lee County Jail. He is set to appear in court on Monday morning.
