According to Hialeah Police, the shooting happened on Sunday at around 10:30 a.m. at La Lunita Cafeteria, in the area of 2200 West 8th Court.
An arrest report said that officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot to his legs, and he was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The victim remains at the hospital, and his identity was not released.
At the scene, three spent shell casings were found, the report said.
During their investigation, the report said, detectives spoke to a security guard who saw the shooting, and said there was an argument that broke out between the victim and Odiosuarez, which led to Odiosuarez pulling out a gun, chasing the victim and firing three shots.
Odiosuarez then left the area in his vehicle, the report said.
As detectives continued to investigate the shooting, the report said, they were able to find Odiosuarez’s car parked at a garage at Miami International Airport.
It was then learned that he boarded an American Airlines flight that was heading to Havana, Cuba, the report said.
With help from the Department of Homeland Security, the flight was diverted back to the terminal at MIA, and Odiosuarez was arrested, the report said.
He was then taken to the Hialeah Police Department, where he confessed to the shooting.
During his court appearance on Monday, a judge denied Odiosuarez’s bond.
