American Legion Post 123 and Scouts BSA Troop 1740 will conduct a flag retirement ceremony on Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. at 4249 Sanibel-Captiva Road, Sanibel. The Sanibel Fire and Rescue District will be on hand to provide safety oversight. The public is welcome and encouraged to attend. Anyone with an unserviceable flag is invited to drop it off in advance of the event.
