MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. (CBS12) — A deadly three-vehicle collision at Warfield Boulevard and Impact Drive has claimed one life and injured two others on Monday, marking the fifth traffic-related fatality in Martin County in just two weeks.

This latest tragedy follows a string of deadly crashes in the county. Last week, three people were killed in two separate crashes over the weekend, prompting the Martin County Sheriff’s Office to urge drivers to slow down. Just days later, on January 6, another violent crash near I-95 in Hobe Sound left a driver trapped and airlifted to the hospital.

Despite increased enforcement and hundreds of citations issued along Warfield Boulevard, serious crashes continue to plague the area. Speed and other dangerous driving behaviors remain major factors, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
