PORT ST. LUCIE — The Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens will celebrate Florida Arbor Day with a public ceremony at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 16, 2026, at the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens.
Florida Arbor Day, observed annually on the third Friday of January due to the state’s subtropical climate, honors the importance of trees and their lasting environmental impact. The ceremony will include a prayer, welcoming remarks, a recitation of an Arbor Day poem, and the reading of names submitted for remembrance, commemoration, and celebration.
A tree will be planted during the event and marked with a plaque noting its year of planting. Honored names will also be recorded in the Gardens’ online Book of Remembrance. A minimum donation of $25 is requested for each dedication, with proceeds supporting the Botanical Gardens.
Donations and memorial submissions may be completed online at www.pslbg.org/arbor-day, with forms also available at the Gardens office. The Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens is located at 2410 S.E. Westmoreland Blvd. and is managed by Friends of the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens, a nonprofit organization supported by volunteers.
