OLDSMAR — An Oldsmar man suffered life-threatening injuries after his three-wheeled motorcycle collided with a Corvette at a busy intersection last week, sheriff’s officials said.
Rodolfo Ballester Sanchez, 56, was stopped at East Woodlands Parkway preparing to turn onto Tampa Road about 6:40 p.m. Jan. 2, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. He went around a stopped vehicle and pulled into the intersection, striking a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette driven by Kevin Patrick Farrell, 49, of Oldsmar.
Farrell was driving northbound on East Lake Club Drive and had the right of way. He was not injured.
Sanchez was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. Investigators say impairment appears to be a factor in the crash.
