New surveillance video shows a man shooting another person outside a cafeteria in Hialeah in broad daylight.
The shooting happened Sunday morning outside La Lunita Cafeteria in the 200 block of West 8th Court.
According to police, an argument involving the victim and 36-year-old Daniel Odio Suarez broke out inside the cafeteria and spilled out into the parking lot.
According to police and the surveillance video, Odio Suarez pulled out a gun and chased the victim around a vehicle before firing three shots.
An arrest report said that officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot to his legs, and he was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Odio Suarez left the scene in his vehicle, which was later found parked in a garage at Miami International Airport, the report said.
Detectives discovered he’d boarded an American Airlines flight that was heading to Havana, Cuba, but with help from the Department of Homeland Security, the flight was diverted back to the terminal at MIA, and Odio Suarez was arrested, the report said.
He was then taken to the Hialeah Police Department, where he confessed to the shooting, authorities said.
Odio Suarez was booked into jail on an attempted murder charge.
