Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans had Sunday off as the team prepares for their Monday Night Football showdown with the Detroit Lions. However, the NFL world received some devastating news on Sunday.
TMZ is reporting that former Buccaneers running back Doug Martin has tragically passed away at the age of 36. The only details shared in the initial report from TMZ are, “A source with direct knowledge confirmed to TMZ Martin passed away recently … though they did not share any further details.”

Martin was drafted in the first round by the Buccaneers in the 2012 NFL Draft. The former Boise State Broncos star spent six seasons with the Buccaneers.
His final season in the NFL was in 2018. Martin played his final season with the then-Oakland Raiders.

The former Buccaneers star had a strong resume during his time in Tampa Bay. In his rookie season, Martin rushed for over 1,000 yards, and he would hit the mark one more time in his seven-year career.

In 2015, Martin would earn his second Pro Bowl selection of his career, as well as earning First-Team All-Pro honors.
