ORLANDO, Fla. – It’s already been well over a week into the new year, and over a dozen Central Florida restaurants have already been forced to close up shop after a visit from a health inspector, according to state records.
These records show that the reported eateries experienced violations like improper storage, rodent droppings, plumbing problems and more.
However, inspections at several restaurants noted issues with cockroaches — especially at a Tampa’s Farandula Pizzeria, where hundreds of dead roaches were reportedly uncovered during the inspector’s visit.

More specifically, the inspector’s report revealed that over 700 dead roaches were found, though roughly 150 living roaches were also discovered during the same visit.
But aside from that pizzeria, nearly all of these restaurants were ultimately allowed to reopen upon a follow-up inspection.
