Demolition of Fort Lauderdale Police HQ begins – NBC 6 South Florida

As plans to construct a new building for Fort Lauderdale Police continue, demolition of the former building began on Wednesday.

The Fort Lauderdale Police building is located at 1300 W. Broward Boulevard.

According to city officials, the project is expected to take two or three months to finish.

With the project underway, residents in the area will hear demolition activity and see an increase in truck traffic.

Officials said that police services will remain operational as construction continues.
