Pirates of the Caribbean star Orlando Bloom made a rare public appearance at the Golden Globes to present an award alongside Minnie Driver.
Orlando and his ex, Katy Perry, called off their engagement after nearly nine years together in July 2025.
Fans think Orlando may have thrown a little shade at his ex during a red carpet interview.
“Is that Orlando Bloom?” It’s a question uttered by Miley Cyrus on the Hannah Montana theme song, “Best of Both Worlds,” and by viewers who tuned in to the 2026 Golden Globes on Sunday, January 11. Orly made a rare public appearance at the Globes to present the award for Best Non-English Language Motion Picture with Minnie Driver, but before he hit the stage, he chatted with some outlets.
This marks one of his first outings—and interactions with the press—since his split with Katy Perry last summer, and fans are convinced he may have snuck a diss to the “Hot ’n Cold” singer during a conversation with Entertainment Tonight, where he talked about finding “a woman [he] can trust.”
When asked what was on his daughter Daisy’s Christmas wish list, the actor confirmed that she wanted “a boyfriend and a cat.” (Same, Daisy. Same.)
“That’s kind of nuts, right?” he told ET’s red carpet correspondent, Cassie DiLaura. “But I was the boyfriend, so that’s the good news. Hallelujah! She’s gonna marry me, finally a woman I can trust!”

Given the subject of their convo, this seems like a reach—especially since Katy and Orlando seem to be on good terms as they continue to co-parent Daisy.
Per photos published by TMZ, the former flames were recently spotted during a family outing in Santa Barbara with their five-year-old daughter on January 10. This marked their second public outing since Katy soft-launched her relationship with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Ahead of the holidays, Katy and Orlando reunited five months after they announced their breakup to take Daisy (as well as Orlando’s 14-year-old son, Flynn, from his relationship with Miranda Kerr) to watch Paddington: The Musical on London’s West End.
In July, the exes announced their split with a joint statement, telling, Us Weekly, “Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is— and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
