A Cape Coral woman was issued a notice to appear after police say she was accused of battering a man during a parking dispute that was partially captured on video.According to the Cape Coral Police Department, officers were dispatched around 10:51 a.m. Jan. 10 to the 1000 block of Southeast 47th Terrace for a reported disturbance. The victim told officers an unknown woman struck him multiple times in the chest with a closed fist following a verbal argument over parking spaces before fleeing the scene in a black Toyota 4Runner.The victim told police he began recording the incident after being struck once. Officers reviewed the video footage and observed a woman later identified as Susan W. Szubinski-Likus accused of charging toward the victim, making physical contact with him, and stating, “I’ll put them on you again,” according to the police report. The video did not show the victim striking or attempting to strike the woman prior to the contact.The victim provided the video as evidence, which was uploaded to Evidence.com, and completed a sworn written statement indicating he wished to press charges. He was also advised of his rights under Marsy’s Law.Officers used vehicle registration information to identify Szubinski-Likus as the registered owner of the vehicle and responded to her residence in northwest Cape Coral. Police said she matched the individual seen in the video and was wearing the same clothing depicted in the footage.Szubinski-Likus was read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak with officers, police said.Based on the video evidence, witness statements, and identification of the suspect, Szubinski-Likus was taken into custody for battery under Florida Statute 784.03. Police said she was accused of intentionally touching or striking Walters against his will.She was issued a Notice to Appear and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 3.
