Surveillance video shows the moment a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s deputy gave a store owner in North Miami the middle finger.
The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Wednesday that it is aware of the Jan. 7 incident at a wireless store, and there is an open and active internal affairs investigation.
“MDSO remains committed to transparency, accountability, and professionalism,” the statement said.
Before the incident, the store owner called 911 to report that a man had threatened to smash up his business with a tire iron after accusing the store of selling him fake AirPods, which the owner denies.
The middle finger happened after the store owner apparently got into a dispute with the deputy over her handling of the case.
