Florida drivers are experiencing significant relief at the pump as the state’s average price for regular unleaded gasoline has fallen to its lowest point in nearly two years.
According to AAA – The Auto Club Group, Florida gas prices declined another 2 cents last week, settling at a state average of $2.90 per gallon on Sunday, October 20, 2025. This modest change marks a substantial milestone, representing the lowest daily average recorded since December 2023.
“Florida gas prices continue to fluctuate week to week, but the overall trajectory is downward,” said Mark Jenkins, spokesman for AAA – The Auto Club Group. “Robust global oil supplies and the seasonal dip in gasoline demand have helped push pump prices to their lowest level in almost two years.”

The continued decline is providing substantial savings for motorists. At the $2.90 average, filling a standard 15-gallon tank now costs approximately $43.50, which is nearly $3 less than the same time last year.
Sunday’s state average of $2.90 per gallon compares favorably to recent and past prices:
2 cents less than last week
28 cents less than last month
19 cents less than last year
Crude Oil Continues to Slide
The downward pressure on gas prices is largely being driven by falling global crude oil costs. The price of U.S. crude oil settled at $57.54 per barrel on Friday, down slightly from the previous week.

The price of $57.46 recorded on Thursday marked the lowest settlement for West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude since May. Industry analysts point to ample global oil supplies and lower gasoline demand as autumn weather sets in, reinforcing the current price trend.
