TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce is calling for a unified front from the private sector as the calendar flips to 2026, chamber leaders announced at their annual breakfast on Thursday morning.
Eddie Gonzalez-Loumiet, the incoming chair of the chamber board, said Tallahassee is ready to transform into a “healthcare hub,” if it can heal its deep wounds from the “FSU Health” fight.
He envisions other businesses popping up around “FSU Health” like specialty clinics, businesses that provide equipment and even cleaning services to serve the new partnership. In a press release from the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, Loumiet said he wants the local business community to think boldly.
“In 2026, we will spend more time building the future than debating the past,” Loumiet said in the release.

New Chamber President and CEO Michael Dalby said Tallahassee shouldn’t be overlooked for Miami or even Jacksonville because of its highly educated workforce. Still, Dalby said the community can do a better job at looking towards the future.
“FSU, FAMU, and TSC are constantly generating top-flight talent, and their research is world-class,” Dalby said in the press release. “The Chamber can help in plugging that talent into our businesses to help them be stronger and more innovative, and we can help ideas from the universities take root and grow here – maybe even grow into the next big thing.”
The Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce presents itself as the voice for the private sector in Tallahassee. Dalby said they inform politicians about the hurdles businesses face, and represent the private sector’s side in local elections.
The chamber’s annual breakfast is a chance for members of the chamber to rub elbows with Tallahassee leaders. Spotted Thursday, including Superintendent of Schools Rocky Hanna and Leon County Commissioner Brian Welch.
