Florida Panthers’ forward Brad Marchand has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable amount under the CBA for unsportsmanlike conduct during Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
In the second period, Marchand got into a skirmish with Sabres defenceman Rasmus Dahlin and would subsequently take Dahlin’s helmet to the penalty box and rip the straps off.

Marchand was assessed a minor for interference and a minor for roughing on the play.
The Sabres won the game 3-0.
Marchand has three goals and three assists in seven games this season.
