TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – A Tallahassee man is charged with sexual battery after allegedly lying about his age and engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
The victim’s parent contacted authorities after finding a cell phone containing explicit messages in the 14-year-old’s trash can.
Arrests papers show Kamron Abernathy, 23, messaged the 14-year-old victim on Instagram in August, 2025. He allegedly told the victim he was a local high school student.
Abernathy is charged with Lewd and Lascivious Batter and Sexual Battery, according arrest documents.(Leon County Jail)
The two began chatting on social media, and Abernathy requested a nude photo of the girl.
A week into the two talking, Abernathy asked to come to the victim’s house. She agreed and let him in through her window, according to arrest papers.
The victim told investigators that Abernathy brought candy and a box of condoms. They talked about having sex and the victim said she didn’t want to but also “wanted to be cool,” according to arrest papers.
Documents show they did have sex and that the victim wanted to stop because she was in pain, but Abernathy told her she would “get used to it.”

The victim told authorities that he held her arms down while she tried to get away from him, according to documents.
Documents reflect Abernathy came to the victim’s house several more times. He later told the victim is was 20 and that he was “sorry.”
A search of Abernathy’s Instagram account revealed several chats with girls that identified themselves between 13 and 15 years old. One message read “I’m a 23 yr old and I use younger pics of myself to link up with girls that are like 14-16 I tell them I’m 17 and when they say I look older I js say it’s bc I have a mustache now,” per arrest papers.
Abernathy is charged with two counts of Lewd and Lascivious Battery and one count of Sexual Battery.
