Florida State has been on a mission to add depth to its quarterback room. In addition to bringing in Auburn’s Ashton Daniels to be their starter in 2026, the Seminoles have now landed a commitment from Lafayette signal-caller Dean DeNobile. He has one year of eligibility left.

FSU has a pretty stacked quarterback room for next year. DeNobile will now battle 2025 signee Kevin Sperry and true freshman Jaden O’Neal for the primary backup spot behind Daniels.

DeNobile spoke on his pledge to the Garnet and Gold.

“It’s very similar to what I played at Lafayette. And coach Malzahn is incredible, he’s one of the best coaches to ever do it,” DeNobile told Noles247. “Playing for a guy like that is a dream come true.”

The 6-foot-2, 198-pounder is coming off his best season in terms of passing yardage. He finished the 2025 campaign with 2,542 yards and also threw 19 touchdowns to seven interceptions. DeNobile scored twice on the ground as well. In 2024, DeNobile racked up 2,417 yards and 14 touchdowns to 12 interceptions, and he also had two rushing touchdowns.

DeNobile put up decent numbers in 2023. He tallied 1,997 passing yards and a career-high 20 touchdown passes to only five interceptions while also running for 180 yards and six scores on his way to Second-Team All-Patriot League honors. DeNobile didn’t play in 2022.
