GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A very strong cold front is on track to sweep through the Southeastern United States this weekend.
This is the second major cold front that the Southeast will see within 10 days.
Thanks to the most recent one, temperatures have plummeted across the morning hours in North Florida. With another cold front rapidly on the way, significantly carrying more precipitation, there is a chance Florida can see snow!
However, this is only a possibility, and not a guarantee. This is also just a chance for North Florida. 1 to 3 inches could be possible.
Areas with possible winter precipitation to watch for, such as freezing rain, snow, and ice potential, would be Live Oak, White Springs, Tallahassee, and Perry, just to name a few.

However, Tallahassee would be the most likely city at this time for a good chance of actual winter precipitation.
As of now, the hours to watch for winter weather would be Sunday morning at 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. This is subject to change.
In a majority of North Central Florida, rain is still to be expected anywhere from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday at this time.
In late January 2025, Florida saw snow as well. With over 8 inches of snow!
