Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation seeks volunteers
Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation is looking for volunteers to provide non-medical support to cancer patients while they are undergoing treatment at St. Petersburg Bayfront Hospital.
Volunteers work in the infusion area, offering snacks or beverages to patients, handing out warm blankets, sharing reading materials, talking and listening and helping nurses with re-stocking.
Ideal candidates include retirees, cancer survivors, caregivers of someone with cancer or college students with an interest in oncology, nursing or medicine. A commitment of three hours per week for at least six months is requested.

MLK Day Virtual Food Drive
One City Chorus, St. Petersburg’s community chorus, is raising money to distribute to local organizations and food banks as part of the MLK Day of Service Jan. 19.
One-hundred percent of all proceeds from the virtual food drive will be donated to the following organizations: Celebrate Outreach, Daystar Life Center, Gulfport Senior Center Food Pantry, Operation Attack, Positive Impact and St. Pete Free Clinic.
Volunteer to build the Padmé Flower Farm
St. Pete Eco Club and Ideas for Us are seeking volunteers Saturday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. until noon to help build out the foundation for St. Petersburg’s new community flower farm. Located in the Warehouse Arts District, Padmé Flower Farm is the creation of Mallika Nair, who recently piloted a small plot at Beacon Food Forest in Clearwater.
Activities include preparing new flower beds, planting seasonal blooms, mulching and soil preparation, installing irrigation and pathways, weeding, watering and general garden care.
No experience is necessary, and tools, plants and guidance will be provided.

Volunteer for the 2026 NFCA Softball Tournament
The City of Clearwater Parks & Recreation is seeking volunteers for the 2026 NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) Leadoff Classic Softball Tournament being held Thursday, Feb. 5 through Sunday, Feb. 8 at the Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater.
Various opportunities are available, including outfield ushers, volunteer tent greeters, ticket scanners, guest greeters, recycling ambassadors and more.
The average shift is four hours and volunteers are welcome to sign up for multiple days and shifts. Volunteers must be 16 years or older and attend an orientation.
The Eddie C. Moore Softball Complex is located at 3050 Drew St., Clearwater.

DTP Fest 2006
Music for Pinellas, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by members of the rock band Deviate the Plan, produces and promotes music festivals to raise money for youth music and sports programs throughout Pinellas County.
The organization is hosting DTP Fest 2006, Saturday, Feb. 7 from 4 until 9:30 p.m. at 6634 92nd Ave., Pinellas Park. The event will feature a lineup of artists including Deviate the Plan, No Direction, Chemical Vision and Beach Terror, along with food and drinks, games, vendors and activities for all ages.
