Q: The Heat’s starting frontcourt, whether or not you include Kel’el Ware, lacks a polished post-up player. They get to the rim but have trouble finishing. All of them are better in a transition game. That’s a problem at the end of close games, when you need to be efficient in halfcourt sets. – Ray, Deerfield Beach.

A: Correct. A flaw of this roster from the outset has been the lack of a true power forward (if Bam Adebayo is going to be cast at center). And Andrew Wiggins, and his ongoing inability to finish from point blank, is not the answer at power forward, either.

Q: This small starting lineup with three guards in Tyler Herro, Norm Powell and Davion Mitchell, in addition to a small forward in Andrew Wiggins and a small center in Bam Adebayo is clearly not working. Why can’t Erik Spoelstra not see this? We are getting killed on the boards every time and other teams are taking advantage of the size differential. We really need to have one of the three come off the bench and reinsert Kel’el Ware back in the starting lineup or trade one of the three for a veteran forward.  – Greg, Jacksonville.

Q: Ira, I’m not even sure who was at the four in that starting lineup against the Celtics. The box score made it look like Pelle Larsson. Can someone please tell Erik Spoelstra that Pelle is not PJ Tucker, and that not all 6-5 tough guys are power forwards? – Levy.
