The Downtown Fort Myers Farmers Market made its highly anticipated return, bringing fresh produce, local artisans, and small businesses back to the heart of the city.

The market opens at 9 a.m. and runs through 1 p.m., stretching from Monroe to Broadway and from Broadway to Main Street.

WINK News reporter Paul Dolan was on the scene to capture the excitement. He said the market’s appeal lies in “the smell of fresh food and the sound of downtown coming back to life.”

Local vendors and families have flocked to the market each season, showcasing a unique side of Southwest Florida culture. The market promises something for everyone, even those with the pickiest tastes.

Tricia Davis, owner of Scoops on First, expressed her enthusiasm for the event.

“Anytime you close the streets off, and you bring in, you know, people from all over, it’s a good thing to have. And I know that we’ve been looking forward to events, and the farmers’ market being one of them. I think it’s a great idea,” said Davis.

Amy Bennett, manager at Enjewel, shared a similar sentiment.

“That’s amazing, bringing people down here, and people love farmers’ markets, and the snowbirds that are coming, it’ll bring people to us to come shopping. It’ll be great,” said Bennett.

The community aspect is what draws vendors back year after year. It’s not just about business; it’s about the people and the atmosphere.

Despite the chilly weather, the turnout is expected to be strong. Dolan encouraged viewers to stay tuned to WINK News Weather Authority for the latest updates on the weather.
