Florida football is starting to put some shape around its spring calendar, with key dates now emerging as the program transitions into a new era under Jon Sumrall.
According to schedules revealed on Friday, the Gators are planning to hold their annual Orange and Blue spring game on Saturday, April 11, a date that traditionally serves as the public’s first real glimpse of the roster heading into the fall.
While the program has not formally announced fan details yet, the spring game has historically taken place at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium and has been free to attend.
Florida‘s spring practice schedule is also beginning to come into focus. Gators Online’s Zach Alboverdi reported that the Gators are set to open spring camp on Tuesday, March 3, with workouts scheduled three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
That rhythm will continue through April 9, giving the coaching staff roughly five weeks to evaluate personnel, install systems and begin shaping depth charts. One built-in pause comes during the university’s spring break. Florida will not hold practices from March 14-21.

Whether any of the Gators’ spring practices will be open to the public has not yet been determined.
Sumrall begins his first spring in Gainesville. With a new head coach comes a new voice, a new approach and, in many cases, a roster still settling into its identity. Spring practice will be especially important for players competing for starting roles, transfers gelling with their new teammates and younger players looking to carve out early opportunities.
While April remains months away, the Orange and Blue game will serve as an early measuring stick for how quickly this new-look Florida team is coming together.
