At least three people were hurt overnight in a shooting at an Oklahoma State University residence hall.

What we know:

The shooting happened when people arrived at the residence hall after attending a large private party off-campus, university police said. The victims reported the shooting at an off-campus location and police responded at about 3:40 a.m. 

At least one of the victims was said to be a student at the school. 

All victims were being treated at hospitals. 

What we don’t know:

It’s not known what led up to the shooting or why it happened. Authorities also didn’t release any information on the suspected shooter. 

Local perspective:

The university is located in the city of Stillwater, about 50 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
