ORLANDO, Fla. — It was a historic weekend for the Butler University cheerleading and dance teams in Florida.

From Jan. 16-18, both teams competed in several categories at the UCA and UDA College Nationals — often called the “Dance Super Bowl.”

The Bulldogs’ cheer team competed in two different categories at the 2026 UCA College Nationals.

First, Butler is no stranger to the Small Coed Game Day category. Last year, the Bulldogs came home with a trophy after making it to the finals. This year, Butler is coming home as national runners up. The team scored a 90.0667, just three points behind Morehead State University in first place.

Next, the team competed for the very first time in the All Girl Division I category and made it to the finals — finishing tied seventh overall with a score of 80.1.

BUDT also took the floor on the nationals stage, but for the first time ever — it was the finals floor.

The dance team finished in the finals for the first time ever in the Division I Jazz category. The Bulldogs took 12th overall with a score of 84.1333!

The team also competed in the Division I Game Day category, but couldn’t get out of the semi-finals with a score of 82.6.
