Frigid start in Central Florida gives way to sunny skies

  • January 19, 2026

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a frigid start to the morning across east Central Florida, conditions will begin improving through the afternoon with a steady warming trend into midweek.

Monday

Despite the bitter morning cold, sunshine will dominate Monday as dry air settles in behind Sunday’s front. Afternoon highs will stay much colder than normal in the mid 50s to mid 60s.

Monday night stays dry with lighter winds, allowing temperatures to drop again. Interior areas west of Interstate 95 fall into the mid to upper 30s, while coastal locations hold in the 40s.

Patchy frost remains possible in some rural interior spots.

Early week

High pressure remains in control through midweek, keeping rain out of the area. A warming trend kicks off, with highs reaching the upper 60s to low 70s by Wednesday.

Lake week

Forecast confidence decreases heading into late week, but temperatures are expected to continue trending warmer, nearing 80 by the weekend

A disturbance offshore in the Atlantic could help push some scattered showers by Thursday and Friday, with the highest chance along the coast. At this point, coverage remains low at 20-30%.
