THIS WEEK, WE’RE TALKING EVERYTHING FROM BLANKETS, SHEETS, PILLOWS AND COTS IN ORANGE COUNTY, BARNETT PARK RECREATION CENTER AND GOLDENROD RECREATION CENTER WILL OPEN BACK UP AT 5 P.M. MATTHEW’S HOPE IN WINTER GARDEN ALSO OPEN. THEY’LL STAY OPEN THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. UNITED GLOBAL OUTREACH AND THE COALITION FOR THE HOMELESS WILL ALSO HAVE SOME EXTRA SLEEPING ROOM TONIGHT. AND THERE ARE ALSO MEN AND WOMEN ONLY SHELTERS. THE MEN ONLY SHELTERS CAN BE FOUND AT THE ORLANDO RESCUE MISSION AND THE SALVATION ARMY ON LEXINGTON AVENUE. THE WOMEN AND CHILDREN ONLY SHELTER IS AT THE SALVATION ARMY ON COLONIAL. Due to the cold weather, several shelters in Central Florida are reopening on Monday night.The shelters are in need of donations of blankets, sheets, pillows and cots. A Freeze Advisory will be in effect for the northern counties, while a Cold Weather Advisory will be in effect for the metro area of Central Florida.
