Duval County Public Schools families can help the district qualify for additional funding by completing the Federal Impact Aid Survey.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two surveys that could help dictate the direction and funding of Duval County Public Schools are open for submissions.
With thousands of military and federal workers or contractors calling Jacksonville home, Duval County Public Schools says the district one of the country’s top 10 for federally-connected students. Those connections make Duval Schools eligible for hundreds of thousands of dollars that could help improve schools throughout Duval — but officials need to prove it before receiving the money.
Duval Schools recently launched its annual Federal Impact Aid Survey, which aims to log the number of families with either active-duty military members, civilian or contract workers that operate on federal property, or that are living in federally-supported housing.Â
The district says the federal funding generated from the data will go towards essential educational needs like textbooks, staffing and other resources.
Parents and guardians can access the survey through their parent FOCUS account.
Students, teachers and parents only have until Tuesday to complete another ongoing feedback survey on how the district can better serve students, employees and families; The Data Triangle Survey.Â
The district said it should only take a few minutes to complete and can be accessed on the district’s website. Even those without a job or student with the district are invited to provide their input.
