ORLANDO, Fla. — Harry C. Craft III, a former Washington resident, earned two gold medals and two silver medals in track and field at the Ormond Beach Senior Games held at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla., Oct.18. Craft participated in the 65-69 age group and won gold medals in the long jump and shot put. Craft also won silver medals in the 50-meter dash and the 100-meter dash. Craft now qualifies for the Florida Senior Games to be held in December. This was the first year Craft competed at the Ormond Beach Senior Games. The Ormond Beach Senior Games are sponsored by Volusia County Parks and is a qualifier for the Florida Senior Games.

Craft is a 27-year veteran having served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army and retired as a U.S. Coast Guard Officer. Craft is a 1978 graduate of Washington High School. Craft holds an A.A. in liberal arts from Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Fla., a B.S. in liberal arts from Excelsior University in Albany, New York, and a MPA in public affairs from Indiana University.
