JACKSONVILLE. Fla. – North Florida Women’s Tennis earned its second-straight win to open its spring season when it defeated Georgia Southern, 5-2, on Monday afternoon at UNF Tennis Complex.
Freshman May Fadida and sophomore Aryana Bartlett earned a quick 6-2 result out of the two spot in doubles. With the double point down to the three line, sophomore Gabby Goyins and senior Jasmin Makela clinched the point with a 7-5 win.
The Ospreys secured first set victories on all six singles courts. Fadida extended the lead with a 6-2, 6-4 win on court four.
Bartlett and Goyins secured the match for North Florida with a pair of straight-set wins on their respective lines. Goyins posted a 6-2, 6-2 win on court five, while Bartlett claimed court two, 6-1, 7-5. Makela added a 6-4, 6-4 win on court six to help reach the eventual final margin.
