Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has announced that state laws requiring race-based state action are unconstitutional under the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and are also in violation of Florida’s Constitution and will no longer be enforced. According to Uthmeier numerous laws on Florida’s books compel state entities and local governments to discriminate based on race – commonly regarding bids for government contracts. 
Lion Country Safari’s KOA campground is set to close following the sale of the property to the family of Larry Ellison. The campground, which borders the park, will cease operations on April 30th with all reservations beyond that date that will be refunded. 
Indiana won its first college football National Championship with a 27-21 win over Miami at Hard Rock Stadium. President Trump attended the game. 
The Miami Dolphins have hired former Packers Defensive Coordinator Jeff Hafley to be the team’s next coach following the firing of Mike McDaniel.  
After a cold and breezy start to the day with temps in the 40’s, we’ll have sunny skies with highs near 70 throughout the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. We’ll have slightly warmer temps for the rest of the week. Up to 2 inches of snow fell in northern Florida over the weekend – marking the second consecutive year parts of the state have experienced snowfall.  
Gas prices are two cents lower over the past day and three cents lower than a week ago. The average price for regular unleaded in Florida is currently $2.75 per gallon. In Palm Beach County the average price is $2.94 per gallon, in Martin the average is $2.83, it’s $2.79 in St. Lucie, and in Indian River County the average is $2.79 per gallon.
