It isn’t often that someone buys a relatively new home, guts it, and then puts it up for sale. But that’s exactly what happened with a home in Lake Nona.
“Everything is customized in the house, everything personalized, the landscaping, the pool, the entire floorplan was changed,” said listing agent Humberto Cuevas with La Rosa Realty. “The only thing that stayed the same in the layout was the master bedroom.”
The 5,718-square-foot home was built in 2019 by Taylor Morrison, and someone lived in it for about a year. The current owner bought it in 2021 for $1.45 million and basically rebuilt it.
“She basically gutted the entire house and was doing construction for almost two years,” Cuevas told GrowthSpotter, adding the customizations are classy, making it more than just a white and grey box.

The kitchen moved from its original location and now has Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a large prep island, and frameless contemporary cabinets.
“When you open them, they light up inside as soon as you open them,” he said.
The home is listed for just under $4.2 million, which is a $300,000 price reduction.
“We were getting no movement on the house, since normally October through December is really slow,” Cuevas explained.

Now there’s interest in the five-bedroom and six-bathroom home with standout lighting from Restoration Hardware and other unique details.
“As soon as you open the front door, you can see all the way out to the pool, and it feels like you’re in a really fancy resort,” he said,
The primary bedroom is on the main level and has two closets, along with a huge bathroom with a glass backsplash.
“It’s an amazing shower, you can put like 20 people in there,” he said with a laugh.

Cuevas said the home has an open feeling, combining indoor and outdoor living.
“[There is] a wow factor,” he said about the house during the day, adding it’s even better at night.
“Everything is lit, all the landscaping. We have bamboo all around the property, and every single bamboo is lit up, and we have fire coming out of the pool.”
In addition to an outdoor kitchen and a huge covered outdoor lounging space that adds almost 2,000 square feet of space under roof. The backyard has a half basketball court and a unique pool with the spa in the middle, accessible only via a walkway.
“[The seller] wanted to have something different that she had never seen anywhere before and she designed it herself,” he said. “She said, ‘I want the spa in the middle,’ and you’re walking in about two inches of water to get to the spa.”

The home sits on .71 acres in the gated area The Preserve in Lake Nona and is surrounded by hedges, making it private.
Furnishings are not included in the price but are negotiable, Cuevas said.
This was supposed to be the seller’s forever home, but circumstances changed when her children left the nest.

“She wanted to have everything unique for herself and this is the third house she has done,” Cuevas explained, but four kids going to college out of state altered the plans. “There’s no reason for her to stay anymore.”
The home is also listed for rent at $17,500, and Cuevas said something strange happened when he raised the rental price.
“As soon as I increased the price, I got applications.”
