D1Baseball named Florida sophomore right-hander Aidan King a preseason All-American on Tuesday.
The only Gator to earn any preseason All-America honors from D1Baseball, King is a member of the Second Team. Right-handed junior Liam Peterson was named a First Team All-American by Perfect Game early in the month.
King had a historic freshman year with the Gators in 2025, setting a program record with four SEC weekly honors. He posted the lowest ERA across a full season since Brady Singer in 2018 (2.55) en route to a 7-2 record. King finished last season with a 1.11 WHIp, 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings and a3.4 strikeout-to-walk ratio. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team.
King is set to return in the No. 2 slot alongside Peterson, giving Florida one of the fiercest 1-2 punches in college baseball.
“Though King may end up starting on Saturdays in deference to a veteran in Peterson, he is definitely Friday starter-worthy,” said Joe Healy in his top-25 breakdown of No. 13 Florida. “King had a 2.58 ERA, a .213 opponent batting average and 79 strikeouts compared to just 23 walks in 73.1 innings last season, using a fastball up to 97 mph as part of a three-pitch mix.”
