On Tuesday, students from Turner Technical High School, Miami Central Senior High, Booker T. Washington Senior High, and Northwestern Senior High gathered at the Marshall L. Davis, Sr. African Heritage Cultural Arts Center for Village Talk – Instrumental Start: A Model for the Nation, a program honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through documentary film, dialogue, and visual art. The event marked two historic milestones: the Center’s 50th Anniversary and the nation’s approaching 250th anniversary. It included a screening of the documentary “Instrumental Start: A Model for the Nation,” directed by Brian Bayerl and Michael Huter, chronicling four decades of Davis’ leadership and the Center’s roots in the Model Cities Program.
