OXFORD, Ohio (WXIX) – In a record-breaking game, the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks defeated the Kent State Golden Flashes in overtime 107-101 Tuesday night.
With this victory, the undefeated team improved to 20-0, setting a new record for the best start to a season in Mid-American Conference history.

Miami led 48-34 at halftime, but Kent State rallied to take a 92-88 lead with under a minute left.

The RedHawks scored 15 points in overtime for the win.
Earlier this week, Miami ranked in the Associated Press’s Top 25 for the first time since 1999.

Miami is now 8-0 to start conference play for the first time since the 1994-95 season.
They set a new program record for the most consecutive road wins overall (9-0).
Tuesday’s win also marked the second straight overtime win for the RedHawks, who defeated Buffalo 105-102 on Saturday, Jan. 17.
Next, Miami faces Massachusetts on Jan. 27.
