Florida State has been involved in the recruitment of blue-chip 2027 defensive lineman Sam LeJeune since he attended their Big Man Camp in June of 2024. He received an offer from the Seminoles that September, and he took an unofficial visit that November.

LeJeune took three more visits to Tallahassee in 2025, and he returned this past weekend for FSU’s Junior Day event. The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder has narrowed his choices down to two schools, and Florida State is one of them. In fact, they may have the lead.

“It’s close to the top, with them and Notre Dame,” LeJeune told Warchant. “But Notre Dame kinda stopped … they don’t text me anymore. So I don’t want to go somewhere that doesn’t want me.”

LeJeune is one of the best prospects in the 2027 cycle. He’s ranked as the No. 86 overall player and the No. 8 defensive lineman. They have him listed as the No. 4 recruit in Mississippi as well.

It was a productive junior campaign for LeJeune this past season. He tallied 58 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and five blocked field goals for Poplarville High School.

FSU recently offered elite running back Ty Keys. He’s a teammate of LeJeune’s at Poplarville, and he was also in Tallahassee over the weekend.
